About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Facilities Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of equipment, utilities, and infrastructure within a GMP manufacturing environment.

This is a dynamic, cross-functional role where you’ll not only ensure facilities and systems operate safely and reliably but also contribute directly to manufacturing operations. Working alongside experienced professionals, you’ll gain exposure across engineering, maintenance, and pharmaceutical production, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their technical capability in a highly regulated industry.

We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical processing, advanced manufacturing, or laboratory environments transitioning into operations.

About You

You are a proactive, detail-oriented engineer who enjoys solving complex problems in a regulated environment. You bring strong technical capability, sound judgement, and the ability to balance independent work with team collaboration.

  • Performing and overseeing preventative and corrective maintenance.

  • Leading troubleshooting and root‑cause investigations.

  • Maintaining asset, maintenance, and calibration records to GMP standards.

  • Supporting equipment lifecycle activities—including URS, FAT/SAT, commissioning, qualification, and decommissioning.

Compliance & Quality

  • Ensuring facilities operate in alignment with GMP, FDA, EMA, and PIC/S guidelines.

  • Supporting internal and external audits.

  • Maintaining SOPs, engineering documents, and validation protocols.

  • Participating in deviations, CAPAs, and change control processes.

Project Engineering

  • Managing upgrade projects from scoping through to execution and qualification.

  • Coordinating contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

  • Identifying opportunities for facility optimisation and energy efficiency.

Operational Support

  • Providing engineering support to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

  • Responding to alarms, deviations, and urgent maintenance needs.

  • Assisting with environmental monitoring and cleanroom readiness.

  • Cross‑training to support operator duties where required.

Health, Safety & Environment

  • Ensuring all activities meet EHS requirements and safe‑work procedures.

  • Participating in hazard identification, incident reporting, and safety improvement initiatives.

  • Promoting a strong safety culture across the facility.

What You’ll Bring

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Mechatronics, or similar) or equivalent technical qualification.

  • Experience in GMP, pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.

  • Strong understanding of utilities and facility systems (HVAC, purified water, compressed air, environmental controls).

  • Knowledge of maintenance systems, calibration processes, and equipment qualification.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation.

  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and sound technical judgement.

Preferred

  • Experience with Computer Maintenance Management Systems.

  • Experience in commissioning and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ).

  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or reliability methodologies.

  • Experience working cross‑functionally in fast‑paced manufacturing environments.

  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks such as FDA 21 CFR 210/211, EU GMP, and PIC/S.

Why Join Us?

  • Work with cutting‑edge technology in a purpose‑driven organisation.

  • Contribute directly to the delivery of life‑changing products.

  • Be part of a supportive, highly skilled team in a collaborative environment.

  • Grow your skills across engineering, maintenance, and pharmaceutical operations.
