Positions Available:
1. Carpenters
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications.
- Measure, cut, assemble and install timber and other building materials.
- Construct and install wall frames, roof framing, flooring and structural components.
- Install doors, windows, skirting boards, architraves and other finishing elements.
- Carry out general building, renovation and maintenance work.
- Ensure all work meets required quality standards, building specifications and health and safety requirements.
- Work independently and alongside other tradespeople to complete projects efficiently.
- A relevant carpentry qualification (such as NZ Certificate in Carpentry Level 4 or equivalent) OR at least 3 years of relevant carpentry experience.
- Proven ability to carry out carpentry tasks to a professional standard.
- Ability to read and interpret building plans and measurements.
- Competence using carpentry hand and power tools.
- Good understanding of construction site health and safety practices.
- Reliable, physically fit and able to work effectively within a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Carpenters and other tradespeople with day-to-day construction activities.
- Measure, cut and prepare building materials under supervision.
- Assist with assembling and installing timber framing and other building components.
- Safely operate basic hand and power tools as instructed.
- Load, unload and move construction materials around the worksite.
- Maintain clean, tidy and safe working areas.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and qualified tradespeople.
- Previous construction experience is advantageous but not essential.
- No formal qualifications required.
- Basic understanding of hand and power tools, or willingness to learn.
- Physically fit and comfortable undertaking manual work.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely on construction sites.
- Reliable, punctual and willing to learn new skills.
- Competitive hourly pay based on the position and experience.
- Minimum 30 guaranteed working hours per week.
