We’ve been designing and manufacturing world-class forestry gear for over five decades, and right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a skilled hydraulics technician to join our Rotorua team.

We are seeking an experienced Hydraulics Repair Technician to take ownership of our dedicated cylinder exchange program within our machining department. In this role, you will be responsible for bringing the heavy-duty hydraulic cylinders that power our equipment back to peak performance.

Role details:

• Hours: Full-time, guaranteed 40 hours per week

• Location: Rotorua

Key responsibilities:

• Diagnose and assess incoming hydraulic cylinders for wear, damage, and failure.

• Perform machining and necessary repairs using manual lathes, grinders, and drilling machines.

• Rebuild and test cylinders to ensure they meet our strict quality standards.

• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

• Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.

• Collaborate with our engineering, design and parts teams to optimise rebuild processes and boost efficiency.

What we’re looking for:

• Minimum five years in a similar hydraulics role.

• Manual machining and turning experience preferred but not essential.

• Strong troubleshooting abilities.

• High standards of workmanship with strong attention to detail.

• Excellent record-keeping skills.

• A self-starter who can manage their workload and work independently.
