The Company

Park Supplies & Playgrounds is a privately owned, Māngere-based business that has designed, manufactured and installed high-quality, New Zealand-made playground equipment for more than 40 years. We work with commercial customers throughout New Zealand, including schools and councils.

Two different positions available in our Playground Installation Team;

Role One: Playground Installer

We are looking for an experienced builder to join our on-site playground installation team. This hands-on position offers the opportunity to contribute to varied installation projects and develop team leadership experience.

This position would suit a qualified builder or someone with a minimum of 4 years of building experience. The role is outside onsite and includes a wide variety of playground construction and installation work, including plan reading, marking out, hole drilling, levelling, building, assembly, carpentry, retaining, concreting and drainage.

The ideal candidate enjoys practical, hands-on building work and has at least four years of relevant experience. The position would suit someone who already has team leadership experience or is looking to develop it. You must be able to work accurately, tidily and safely in school and public park settings. This role reports to our Installation Manager.

Our playground installations take place throughout Auckland and elsewhere in New Zealand. The role therefore requires regular travel and overnight stays away from Auckland.

 Essential Attributes:

  • Full New Zealand driver licence and reliable transport; a heavy vehicle licence would be useful but is not essential

  • Ability to accurately read and follow detailed playground installation plans

  • A strong commitment to health and safety

  • A minimum of 4 years carpentry or building experience

  • Attention to detail while delivering high-quality results

  • Comfortable with working at heights (height and harness experience useful but not essential)

  • Able to travel throughout Auckland and stay away from home for an average of one to two weeks each month

  • Friendly and self-motivated with good customer communication skills

Role Two: Digger Driver/Playground Installer

We are looking for an experienced digger operator to join us in a hybrid Digger Driver / Playground Installer position. You will operate excavators of up to five tonnes on playground installation sites and, at other times, work alongside the installation team on building and assembly tasks.

This role reports to our Installation Manager.

Playground installations take place in Auckland and in other parts of NZ requiring travel away.

 Essential Attributes:

  • Full New Zealand driver licence and reliable transport; a heavy vehicle licence would be useful but is not essential

  • Ability to accurately read and follow detailed playground installation plans

  • A strong commitment to health and safety

  • At least four years’ experience operating excavators of up to five tonnes

  • Experience in carpentry or building work
