Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Database Migration Developer with strong expertise in Sybase ASE (Adaptive Server Enterprise) and Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL). The candidate will be responsible for assessing, converting, optimizing, and migrating database objects, SQL code, and applications from Sybase ASE to SQL Server while ensuring performance, data integrity, and business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing Sybase ASE databases, schemas, and application dependencies.
• Convert and migrate database objects including:
  • Tables
  • Views
  • Stored Procedures
  • Triggers
  • Functions
  • User Defined Types
  • Jobs and Schedulers
• Convert Sybase SQL, Transact-SQL, and proprietary syntax to Microsoft SQL Server compatible code.
• Perform data migration and validation activities.
• Optimize queries and database objects post-migration.
• Resolve compatibility issues between Sybase ASE and SQL Server.
• Execute schema comparison, code remediation, and testing activities.
• Support performance benchmarking and tuning after migration.
• Develop migration automation scripts wherever feasible.
• Collaborate with application teams, DBAs, architects, and business stakeholders throughout migration projects.
