Expressions of Interest - Piling Operators

Solar Construction Project

Ko mātou tēnei – Our organisation

At BAM BAM Pile Driving, we’re proud to be building the infrastructure that powers New Zealand’s future. Our reputation has been built on delivering quality piling, civil and construction solutions safely, efficiently, and with integrity.

As we continue to grow, we’re seeking experienced Piling Operators to join one of New Zealand’s largest renewable energy construction projects. This is your opportunity to be part of a project that will leave a lasting legacy while working alongside an experienced, supportive and hardworking team.

Ko tō tūranga – Your role

You'll play a key role in delivering the foundations that support large-scale solar infrastructure, operating specialised piling equipment to install foundation posts accurately, safely and efficiently across the project.

Your day may include:

  • Operating piling rigs to install foundation piles in accordance with project specifications and quality requirements.
  • Working from survey and GPS set-out information to ensure piles are installed to the required location, depth and alignment.
  • Safely manoeuvring and operating plant and equipment across large and varied construction sites.
  • Completing daily pre-start inspections, safety checks and routine maintenance to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable and operational.
  • Monitoring pile installation quality and identifying any defects or non-conformances requiring remediation.
  • Maintaining accurate production records, equipment logs and other required site documentation.
  • Following all site rules, permit requirements, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and WHS procedures at all times.
  • Identifying, reporting and managing workplace hazards, including underground services and changing ground conditions.
  • Communicating effectively with supervisors, survey teams and other work crews to support project delivery.
  • Assisting with general site activities and supporting the wider project team as required.

No two days will be the same, and we’re looking for people who are willing to roll up their sleeves and support the wider team wherever needed.

Ōu pūkenga – What you’ll bring

We’re looking for operators who take pride in their work, work safely, and thrive in a fast-paced construction environment.

  • Site Safe Passport (or equivalent).
  • Full New Zealand Driver Licence (no conditions)

  • A strong commitment to health, safety and quality.
  • Must currently reside in Taupō or be willing to relocate to the Taupō area for the duration of the project.

Desirable
