Experienced A-Grade Boner Wanted
Cabernet Foods Ltd is looking for an experienced and reliable A-Grade Boner to join our Production Team at our Taupiri processing facility. We operate all year round with no seasonal shutdowns, providing stable and consistent employment throughout the year.
This is an opportunity for a skilled meat processing professional who takes pride in producing quality work, has excellent knife skills, and understands the importance of yield, efficiency and product specification.
About the role
As an A-Grade Boner, you will undertake skilled boning, cutting, trimming and processing duties while working as part of an experienced production team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Performing advanced boning, cutting and trimming duties
Accurately identifying and separating muscle groups
Working to required cut specifications
Maximising product yield while minimising waste
Maintaining product quality and integrity
Using knives, bandsaws and other processing equipment safely
Meeting production targets in a fast-paced processing environment
Following all food safety, hygiene and Health & Safety requirements
Supporting and working collaboratively with other members of the production team
The position involves advanced meat processing duties across multiple species, including beef, sheep, pork, goat and venison.
What we're looking for
You will ideally have:
Proven experience working as a Boner / A-Grade Boner within the meat processing industry
Excellent knife-handling and boning skills
A strong understanding of meat cuts, specifications and yield optimisation
Experience handling carcasses and processing meat products
A good understanding of food safety and workplace Health & Safety requirements
The ability to work efficiently and consistently in a production environment
A strong work ethic and positive, can-do attitude
Good communication and teamwork skills
Reliability and punctuality
An NZITO qualification or equivalent would be advantageous, but is not essential
What we offer
Starting rate of $30.00 per hour for the candidate with the right skills and experience
Permanent, full-time employment with a minimum of 30 hours per week
