About the role
Zero Waste Education delivers fun, hands-on waste minimisation lessons to early childhood centres (ECEs) and primary and intermediate schools. Our units are linked to the New Zealand Curriculum and help tamariki understand how what we buy, use and throw away affects the world around us and what they can do about it. We're looking for a self-employed contract Educator to bring our programme to schools and ECEs within Kāpiti Coast District. This is a part-time contract role with hours that fluctuate depending on how many schools and ECEs book lessons. While ECEs can be taught during school holidays, school terms are only max 40 weeks out of the year.

Experience educating children
A passion for sustainability and waste minimisation
A reliable vehicle
Confidence managing a class and making learning fun
Good organisation and self-management skills (you'll be self-employed)
Basic computer skills
Teacher registration (desirable but not essential)
Te reo Māori (an advantage)
