About the role
You'll take responsibility for Million Dollar Cruise, our year-round sightseeing cruise, and Canyon Explorers, our seasonal canyoning business. You'll also play an important role in developing and launching new experiences, including a proposed year-round zipline operation. This is a hands-on leadership role with genuine autonomy and an owner-operator mindset. You'll be supported by RCT Group's centralised sales, marketing, finance and administration teams, while taking responsibility for the success of the Queenstown businesses.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, support and develop our teams, recognising that our people and culture are what make our experiences exceptional
- Respect the unique cultures of each business while building connections and collaboration across the wider group
- Oversee safe, efficient and consistently excellent day-to-day and seasonal operations
- Take ownership of financial performance, profitability and commercial results
- Actively grow local sales, tour group business, trade relationships and brand awareness throughout Queenstown
- Oversee safety and compliance across adventure activities, maritime and passenger transport operations, working alongside appropriately qualified specialists
- Work with the CEO to identify new business opportunities, develop products and support the launch of future experiences
About you
- Proven experience leading teams and managing business operations
- A strong track record of building positive, high-performing workplace cultures
- Commercial acumen, including budgeting, financial performance and cost management
- A practical, hands-on leadership style and willingness to support frontline teams
- Experience working in a safety-focused or regulated environment
- A proactive approach to sales, business development and building relationships
- Sound judgement, initiative and a strong sense of accountability
- Experience in tourism, adventure activities, maritime operations or managing multiple businesses would be an advantage, as would an established network within the Queenstown tourism industry
