ABOUT THE ROLE
Due to increasing operational requirements, Sightline Security Limited is looking for experienced, reliable and motivated Security Officers to join our team as independent contractors, primarily working across supermarket locations throughout Auckland.
We currently have shifts available and are looking for individuals who are ready to get started, have flexible availability and can assist at short notice.
This role is focused on supermarket security and loss prevention, including identifying and preventing shoplifting, monitoring CCTV, maintaining a safe shopping environment and working closely with supermarket management and other security personnel.
While contractors will initially be offered shifts on a casual basis, our goal is to find reliable individuals who can become regular, full-time members of our contracting team.
We're not simply looking to build a pool of casual contractors. We want to find the right people, give them the opportunity to prove themselves and offer them consistent, full-time hours where performance and operational requirements allow.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Actively monitor supermarket activity to identify suspicious behaviour and potential shoplifting.
• Identify and prevent theft through proactive loss prevention practices.
• Monitor CCTV systems to identify, track and respond appropriately to suspicious activity.
• Maintain a safe, secure and welcoming shopping environment for customers and staff.
• Respond professionally and appropriately to security incidents while following company procedures.
• Work closely with supermarket management, staff and fellow security officers.
• Maintain a visible and professional security presence within the supermarket.
• Complete accurate incident reports and communicate relevant information to management.
• Be available to assist with shifts at short notice when required.
• Work across different supermarket locations throughout Auckland.
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for individuals who take pride in their work, have a good eye for detail and understand the importance of being proactive in a supermarket security environment.
To be considered, you must:
• Have previous experience working in the security industry.
• Hold a current and valid NZ Certificate of Approval (COA).
• Be reliable, punctual and professional.
• Have strong observational skills and the ability to recognise suspicious behaviour.
• Have good communication skills and be confident dealing with members of the public.
• Be capable of remaining calm and making sensible decisions under pressure.
• Be comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Have flexible availability and be willing to accept shifts at short notice.
• Be willing to work across different supermarket locations throughout Auckland.
• Have a positive attitude, a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and improve.
Previous experience in supermarket security, retail loss prevention or CCTV monitoring is highly desirable, but not essential. We're happy to consider applicants with other security experience who demonstrate the right attitude and a willingness to learn.

• Competitive rates starting at $27.00 per hour, with the opportunity to increase to $29.00 per hour based on performance.
