Haines Hunter HQ is looking for an experienced, qualified Marine Technician / Outboard Mechanic to join our workshop team.

About the Role
Working as part of our workshop team, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing Yamaha outboard engines, along with preparing Haines Hunter boats for delivery.
Servicing, maintaining and repairing Yamaha outboard engines.
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
Carrying out trailer servicing, maintenance and repairs.
Conducting boat inspections and identifying any maintenance or repair requirements.
Completing pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and preparing new boats for handover.
Boat rigging, installations and water testing.
Carrying out general day-to-day workshop tasks to keep jobs moving efficiently.
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment.
Completing accurate job records and ensuring all work meets our quality standards.
· Carrying out boat upgrades, modifications and customer-requested installations.

What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
A recognised New Zealand marine qualification
At least three years' experience in marine mechanics or a similar marine technician role.
Strong experience servicing, maintaining and repairing marine engines.
Good mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
Experience with outboard engines or personal watercraft would be an advantage.
A high standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
The ability to work independently, manage jobs efficiently and contribute to a close-knit team.
A full New Zealand driver's licence.
The legal right to work in New Zealand.
You'll be someone who takes ownership of your work, communicates well, keeps a tidy workshop and understands the importance of delivering reliable, quality results for our customers.
