About this Role

We are seeking an experienced Python and Django Software Engineer to join our Infrastructure Engineering team in Romania. You will design, build and maintain modern, scalable back-end applications, RESTful APIs and microservices, while integrating Generative AI capabilities, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and agentic workflows.
You will combine hands-on back-end engineering with AI-enabled application development, integrating LLM provider APIs and building tools for AI agents through APIs and MCP servers. You will also provide technical consultancy to clients, advise on engineering best practices and AI use cases, and support stakeholders in making informed technical decisions.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop and maintain high-quality, well-tested back-end services and RESTful APIs using Python and Django.
  • Write clean, maintainable and efficient code aligned with technical designs and business requirements.
  • Build and maintain microservices and integrations with databases, search and logging infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain AI-enabled functionality, including LLM-powered features and RAG pipelines.
  • Build agentic workflows and expose or consume tools for AI agents through APIs and MCP servers.
  • Integrate back-end applications with LLM providers and consuming applications.
  • Apply responsible AI and security standards to LLM-based functionality, including PII controls and safeguards against data leakage and prompt injection.
  • Partner with front-end engineers to define and integrate API contracts.
  • Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to support timely project delivery.
  • Contribute throughout planning, solution design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance.
  • Conduct peer code reviews and participate in debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Improve back-end performance through caching, query optimisation and efficient data access.
  • Follow and promote engineering practices including version control, code review and continuous integration.
  • Support the onboarding and integration of new team members through knowledge-transfer sessions.
  • Produce, share and explain technical documentation, operating procedures and solution or architecture designs.
  • Provide technical support, mentoring and guidance to colleagues across different experience levels.
  • Contribute to relevant team, department and company initiatives, including technical investigations, analysis, process documentation and knowledge transfer.

Who you are

  • You have 5+ years of back-end development experience, with a strong focus on Python and Django.
  • You are proficient in Python and Django and have experience integrating LLM provider APIs, such as OpenAI, Anthropic or Azure OpenAI.
  • You have experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
  • You have experience with relational databases and SQL.
  • You have a solid understanding of microservices architecture and integration patterns.
  • You understand prompt engineering, RAG, vector databases, agentic patterns and LLM output evaluation.
  • You are familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaborative software development.
  • You demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • You can communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You continuously develop and share your technical expertise.
     
    It would also be beneficial if you have:
  • Basic knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with message brokers and asynchronous or background processing.
  • Familiarity with observability practices, including logging, metrics and tracing.
  • Experience with testing frameworks.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
