Job Title: Data Visualization Engineer (Tableau)
Experience: 6–8 years
Work Mode: Work from office preferred; remote considered for the right candidate
Location: Hyderabad

About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Data Visualization Engineer to design and build dashboards that people use to make decisions. You'll use Tableau, SQL and Python, and you'll also work as a business analyst: you'll meet stakeholders, figure out what they need, and turn it into clear, reliable reporting. You'll own your work from start to finish with little supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards and reports covering business KPIs and operational metrics.
  • Run requirement-gathering sessions with business users, write up business requirements and functional specifications, and turn them into data and visualization designs.
  • Write complex SQL queries, views and stored procedures, and tune them to extract, transform and validate data from multiple sources.
  • Use Python (pandas, NumPy, etc.) for data preparation, automation, ad-hoc analysis and data quality checks.
  • Build and optimize Tableau data sources, extracts, calculated fields, LOD expressions, parameters and row-level security.
  • Publish and manage content on Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud, including scheduling, permissions and performance tuning.
  • Partner with data engineering teams on data models, data pipelines and source-system issues.
  • Present insights and recommendations to business and leadership audiences.
  • Own deliverables from start to finish: estimate the effort, prioritize, deliver on time and keep stakeholders updated.
  • Apply best practices in dashboard design, data storytelling and documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  1. 6–8 years of experience in BI, data visualization or analytics, with at least 4 years of hands-on Tableau work (Desktop, Server or Cloud).
  2. Strong SQL skills on at least one major database or warehouse, such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake or Redshift.
  3. Working knowledge of Python for data manipulation and automation.
  4. Proven experience as a business analyst: gathering requirements, mapping processes, writing BRDs/FRDs and managing stakeholders.
  5. Solid understanding of data modeling concepts such as star schema, dimensions and facts.
  6. Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain data to non-technical users.
  7. Able to work independently, take ownership and handle ambiguity.
  8. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or a related field.

Good to Have

  • Tableau certification (Desktop Specialist, Certified Data Analyst or Server Certified Associate).
  • Exposure to other BI tools such as Power BI or Oracle Analytics Cloud.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure or GCP).
  • Domain experience in BFSI, healthcare, retail or manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery.
