This is a fixed-term role from 26 January-29 September 2027. It is part-time: 10 hours per week during term time only.
Key Goals
To develop Villa netball working to the Villa Strategic Netball plan.
Progress Villa Maria as a top performing college across all age groups/grades in the Christchurch Netball Competition.
Develop a culture where all players/coaches enjoy playing for Villa Maria Netball and adhere to our Mercy Values.
Ensure development at Year 9/10 level providing quality coaching to develop depth in Villa netball.
Rep teams – more Villa players given the opportunity to make rep trials and teams.
Provide quality coaches/managers across all grades.
Student umpires and coaches supported and acknowledged.
Key Responsibilities
Co-ordinate the Trial process across all age grades/teams – in conjunction with Sports Director, select dates for all trials. Source Selectors. Prepare teams for trials, arrange umpires. Advise selections, contact lists for all players given to team managers, coaches.
Oversee and implement targeted skills programme utilizing outside specialists as needed.
Be primary contact and co-ordinate strength and conditioning sessions utilizing outside providers for performance teams’ pre-season and throughout the season.
Provide specialist training sessions using outside providers (mental skills/nutrition) when necessary for teams/players as required by coaches.
Key Duties
Administration - Undertake all admin for Villa Maria Netball.
Manage all player registrations through Villa website and ensure no pay no play policy.
Complete all online registrations for all players / teams/ team grading for Christchurch Netball by required date.
Liaise with Sports Director on appointments for all team coaches/managers.
Organise and distribute all team equipment/ co-ordinate return of equipment.
Provide contact lists for all team coaches/health and safety incident forms.
Co-ordinate student coaches.
Co-ordinate student umpires for all U14 and below teams.
Timely team entries for SISS tournament and Junior Tournaments.
Ensure all bookings in conjunction with team manager are in place for accommodation/transport for tournament teams.
Coordinate training times and courts for all teams.
Draws/results for all grades/teams advised and updated in gym notice board.
Organisation of prize giving.
Coordinate all Wednesday netball teams, entries/draws/results.
Student Coaches
Be primary contact and support for student coaches.
Facilitate coaching courses for student coaches.
Provide feedback to all student coaches.
Student Umpires
Coordinate umpires for all U14 Villa teams.
Facilitate umpire training sessions for all student umpires.
Mentor and support/provide feedback to all student umpires.
