About the role

We are seeking a Qualified Arborist to join our growing team at All-Tree Services in Palmerston North Central Manawatu. This is a full-time position based on-site in our local area, offering an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic team delivering professional tree care services. As a Qualified Arborist, you will play a vital role in providing expert tree assessments, maintenance, and management services to our clients. You will be responsible for executing complex arboricultural work with precision and professionalism, whilst ensuring all activities adhere to strict safety and environmental standards. This position is integral to maintaining our reputation for quality workmanship and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

1. Perform skilled tree pruning, trimming, and canopy management to promote health and safety

2. Execute tree felling and removal operations in accordance with industry best practices and safety regulations

3. Operate and maintain specialist arboricultural equipment and climbing gear safely and effectively

4. Contribute to team safety culture by adhering to all health and safety protocols and reporting hazards promptly

5. Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to ensure project schedules are met and client expectations are exceeded

6. Stay current with industry developments, best practices, and evolving arboricultural techniques

What we're looking for

1. A recognised arboriculture qualification or equivalent industry certification (such as a National Certificate in Arboriculture or equivalent qualification recognised in New Zealand)

2. Proven experience working as a practising arborist in a professional tree care operation

3. Comprehensive knowledge of tree biology, health management, and safe work practices within the arboricultural industry

4. Current, valid climbing certifications and competency to work at height safely

5. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to tree work, including working at heights and operation of powered equipment

6. Excellent physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

7. Sound communication and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical arboricultural concepts clearly

8. A valid driver's licence and Ideally an HT licence

9. A commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible tree management practices

10. Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to identifying and managing tree-related risks
