Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite new and existing commercial and body corporate property business
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with broker partners
- Assist brokers with the placement of risks and provide tailored insurance solutions
- Ensure underwriting decisions align with delegated authority limits and insurer guidelines
- Liaise with insurer partners on referred business and underwriting matters
- Monitor and maintain underwriting standards, procedures, and documentation requirements
- Ensure policy documentation and records are accurate, complete, and compliant
- Contribute to the ongoing success and profitability of the portfolio
- 2-3+ years' experience in property underwriting or a related insurance role
- Strong understanding of commercial property insurance principles and products
- Knowledge of the New Zealand insurance market, policies, and legislation
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- A proactive, self-motivated approach and ability to work autonomously
- A collaborative team mindset and willingness to contribute to shared success
- NZQA Level 5 or equivalent Insurance qualification
