We are seeking an Operations Team Member - Baker to join our Afternoon Shift team at our Avondale site. This role combines bakery expertise with broader production and packaging responsibilities, supporting the manufacture of high-quality products while maintaining the highest standards of safety, food safety, quality, and operational performance.
Working as part of a collaborative team, you will be involved in ingredient preparation, mixing, forming, baking, machine operation, changeovers, packing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and operate bakery equipment across mixing, forming, and baking processes
- Set up, adjust, operate, and complete changeovers on bakery machinery
- Monitor product quality and process performance to ensure products meet specification
- Support production and packaging operations, including machine operation and packing activities
- Follow GMP, food safety, quality, and hygiene standards at all times
- Complete production records and quality checks accurately
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and production trials
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily production targets
About You
- Recognised Bakery Qualification or equivalent trade certification
- Experience operating bakery equipment within a food manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of bakery processes including ingredient preparation, mixing, forming, and baking
- Understanding of food safety, quality, hygiene, and GMP requirements
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, flexible, and committed to quality outcomes
- Continuous improvement mindset with strong attention to detail
