Monday to Thursday 6 AM to 5 PM or Tuesday to Friday 6 AM to 5 PM.
Job Description
The Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist will oversee assigned laboratory sections, including specimen processing, test performance, and reporting of test results. The role requires compliance with regulatory requirements, hospital policies, and the overarching goal of delivering quality patient care. The laboratory offers a range of services including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, phlebotomy, blood bank, microbiology, and clinical microscopy, providing 24-hour coverage.
Responsibilities
- Supervise laboratory sections ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards.
- Perform high complexity testing and analyze specimens in various specialties.
- Ensure accurate reporting of test results to maintain high quality patient care.
- Assist with training and mentoring of bench technologists and other staff.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the laboratory.
Required Experience
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a generalist in clinical laboratory testing across multiple specialties.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current, unexpired certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, Technologist, or Specialist from a nationally recognized certification agency.
