You've established yourself as a capable Hydraulic Engineer, but what's the next step? More responsibility on the same projects, or the opportunity to lead a team, manage your own clients and have a genuine influence on how a business develops?

I'm working with an international building services consultancy offering exactly that opportunity within its Sydney office.

With offices across Australia, the UK and Middle East, my client has the technical capability and project portfolio you'd expect from a Tier 1 consultancy, but with a more personal, accessible leadership structure.

You'll work directly with the NSW directors, become part of the local leadership group and take responsibility for a small, established team of three in hydraulics

What makes this role different?

  • Genuine leadership: Take ownership of the hydraulic discipline in Sydney, mentoring your team and helping shape its future growth.

  • Major projects: Lead hydraulic design and delivery across hospitals, healthcare, education, commercial, residential and mixed-use developments.

  • National exposure: Work on significant projects across NSW, alongside major healthcare developments in Victoria and opportunities in Queensland.

  • Direct influence: Work closely with the directors on client relationships, project coordination and broader business decisions.

  • Room to grow: Join an established international consultancy with the opportunity to develop the hydraulic team as the Australian business continues to evolve.

Who would this suit?

An experienced Senior or Associate Hydraulic Engineer who's confident delivering projects independently and ready to take greater ownership of a team.

You'll need a solid technical background in hot and cold water reticulation, sanitary drainage, trade waste and stormwater design, alongside experience coordinating with other building services disciplines.

Experience with hydrants, hose reels or sprinkler systems would be beneficial, although dedicated fire protection specialists are already in place.

Most importantly, you'll enjoy working with clients, developing younger engineers and taking responsibility for delivering good projects.
