Shape water infrastructure. Shape your week.

About the role

Working alongside our Project Managers and Project Directors, you will lead the technical side of our Three Waters projects from feasibility through to construction and close-out. You’ll work across water supply, wastewater and stormwater, helping communities get infrastructure that lasts. That means being the go-to engineer at the design table and on site.

We offer flexibility that fits your life. You might be easing towards retirement, working around school hours, or keeping Thursdays free for fishing. That works for us. We trust our people to manage their own time, and we measure results, not hours at a desk.

You can be based anywhere in Waikato, Hastings or Auckland, with travel to project sites as needed. Bring the experience. Set your own rhythm. We’ll back you to deliver.

Key responsibilities

  • Technical delivery lead of Three Waters projects from feasibility to construction completion.

  • Review engineering design calculations and technical assessments.

  • Review drawings, specifications and tender documents.

  • Administer construction contracts and manage contractor progress.

  • Lead site inspections and construction quality.

  • Support programme, budget, risk and reporting across your projects.

  • Work with clients, councils, contractors and specialist consultants.

  • Mentor Project Engineers and site staff.

About you

  • Degree in Civil, Environmental or Water Engineering, or equivalent.

  • 5+ years' post-graduate experience, with a strong track record in water infrastructure.

  • Experience administering contracts under NZS 3910 or NZS 3916. FIDIC experience is an advantage.

  • Sound knowledge of NZ water regulation, including Taumata Arowai requirements.

  • Confident dealing with contractors, councils and clients.

  • CPEng, or working towards it, is an advantage.

  • Full NZ driver's licence and the right to work in New Zealand.
