With a strong focus on customer relationships, practical product support and developing their people, we are seeking a motivated and driven Territory Manager to continue to develop their presence across the Lower South Island.

This opportunity combines the autonomy to take ownership of your region with comprehensive training, supportive leadership and opportunities for future progression!

About the role:
  • Manage a territory stretching from Temuka to Invercargill, including Central Otago
  • Strengthen relationships with merchant stores, fencing contractors, farmers and large station owners.
  • Generate demand with end-users and channel sales through the merchant network.
  • Grow existing accounts and actively identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Deliver product training, support in-store merchandising and provide practical advice on product applications.
  • Represent the business at trade breakfasts, contractor conferences and industry events.
  • Use sales data to plan your activity, identify opportunities and lead informed customer conversations.
  • Share market intelligence and customer feedback, bringing practical solutions and recommendations to the wider business.
  • Undertake regular regional travel, typically three to four nights away per month.
About you:
  • You have a strong connection to the rural sector through farming, agriculture, horticulture, agribusiness or rural supplies.
  • Ideally you also bring three to five years’ relevant experience in sales, account management or a customer-facing merchant environment.
  • You're based in the Otago region, with a good office set-up at home
  • Knowledge of fencing, rural supplies or building products would be advantageous, supported by comprehensive product training.
  • You enjoy building trusted relationships, growing business and following through on commitments
  • You have the confidence to engage with a range of customers, from farmers and contractors through to merchant managers.
  • You bring competitive drive to win business, balanced with a collaborative approach and commitment to customer success.
  • Strong organisational skills, initiative and accountability, and the ability to manage your territory independently are all essential attributes.
  • You have strong administrative and reporting skills including a good level of computer literacy
Benefits:

You’ll receive a competitive salary package reflecting your experience, including a monthly performance bonus, company vehicle with full personal use and all the tools of the trade.

Working from home, you’ll have the autonomy to plan your territory and customer visits, backed by a comprehensive six-week induction, ongoing mentoring and regular field support from a collaborative national team.
