About the role
LVL80 Cranes Pty Limited is seeking a Junior Project Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Yatala, Queensland. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to develop your project engineering expertise within a growing crane and lifting solutions company. You will work on delivering high-quality projects from conception through to completion, gaining hands-on experience in project planning, coordination, and technical delivery. This role is based on-site in Yatala QLD 4207 and offers the chance to work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative engineering environment.
Key responsibilities
Assist in the planning, design, and delivery of crane and lifting projects, working under the guidance of senior project engineers
Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation using CAD software and industry-standard tools
Support site inspections and surveys to gather technical data and identify project requirements
Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and communicated
Monitor project progress, timelines, and budgets, reporting on key metrics and identifying risks or issues
Conduct calculations and analysis for load planning, structural integrity, and equipment specifications
Contribute to health and safety compliance on projects, ensuring all work meets regulatory standards and company policies
Support the preparation of project proposals, quotations, and technical reports
Participate in continuous learning and professional development to expand technical knowledge and skills
What we're looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Bachelor Degree or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
Approximately 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience, ideally involving design, construction engineering or project delivery.
Demonstrated knowledge of engineering design principles, structural behaviour and construction methodologies.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and construction documentation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and engineering calculation skills.
Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative multidisciplinary engineering project environment.
Experience within cranes, lifting systems, temporary works, construction methodology, major construction projects, structural engineering, or heavy industry environments will be highly regarded.
