Can you sell it, measure it and install it?
Santa Fé Shutters & Blinds is looking for someone with an uncommon combination: strong sales ability and genuine practical capability.
You will manage the customer journey from start to finish, working directly with customers to understand their space, recommend the right solution, measure and quote, and turn those conversations into sales. From there, you will see each job through to a quality installation and finished result.
This is not a role for someone who only wants to install, and it is not a traditional sales position where you hand the job over once the deal is done.
We are looking for someone who enjoys both.
You might already work in window furnishings, kitchens, cabinetry, flooring, building, property improvement or another trade based environment where you are just as comfortable talking to a customer as you are picking up your tools.
Or you may be an experienced salesperson with strong practical ability who wants more independence and ownership over the work you do.
What you’ll be doing
Meeting customers and understanding what they want to achieve.
Recommending suitable shutter and blind solutions.
Accurately measuring and preparing quotes.
Following up opportunities and converting them into sales.
Keeping customers informed throughout the process.
Installing shutters and blinds to a high standard.
Delivering a great customer experience from the first conversation to the finished result.
If you are strong in sales and measurement but need to develop your installation capability, there may be an opportunity to introduce installation work once you have demonstrated the required competence and have the appropriate equipment.
You’ll probably be a good fit if you:
Know how to sell without making customers feel like they are being sold to.
Are confident building rapport and asking the right questions.
Have practical, trade or installation capability.
Are accurate with measurements and comfortable working to specifications.
Can problem solve when something does not go exactly to plan.
Take pride in the quality of your workmanship.
Are organised, reliable and comfortable managing your own customer commitments.
Enjoy working independently and taking ownership of the result.
Have your own suitable vehicle, ordinary tools and equipment, phone and business resources.
Previous experience with shutters and blinds would be valuable, but it is not essential. The combination of sales ability, practical capability and the right attitude is more important.
Run your own business, with a strong brand behind you
This is an independent contractor opportunity rather than an employed position.
You will have the independence of operating your own business while having access to Santa Fé’s established product range, initial samples and brochures, quoting and ordering systems and support from its Customer Service, Product and Logistics teams.
Product familiarisation or training assignments may also be separately agreed.
There is no guaranteed minimum volume of work or income under the contractor arrangement.
