Us?

We are an Employment Advocacy firm that represents employees in personal grievances and other employment related issues. We balance the scales in employment disputes and take great pride from our work in assisting our clients secure equitable outcomes.  We proudly cover the entire country and are extraordinarily busy.

We value our values and believe we bring a lot more than just advice and solutions to the employment landscape. We understand employment is far more than just a job and often defines us. If things aren't going well at work, it can have a profound impact.

So we in turn do our best to create a fantastic place to work. We are always working on it and value everyone’s opinion on what makes work engaging.

We are flexible to your needs and restrictions. We get family and activities and understand that you'll need to be elsewhere at times. We don't clock watch, we just focus on results. Your hours will work for you, that'll work for us in return.

We are growing and need more stars to join our team. That’s why we need you!

You?

We are less interested in your experience and more in your personality. Are you keen and eager to learn?

You will be interested in employment law or maybe have worked in HR.

If you have a professional degree, like law or HR, that will be a huge advantage - but is not critical.

You will need to have an interest in helping people, as this role is all about that.  You will have a strong value base and be empathetic. We deal with people who are often under great strain so you will need to be caring and be able to work effectively under pressure.

You will need the ability to communicate with a diverse client base.  You will also need strong communication skills.

You will need to be able to self-manage your workload, but also work as part of a team and be super organised.

You will need to be confident and be able to work in a fast paced environment.

You will need to have a high degree of attention to detail.

You will be motivated to succeed and have a strong work ethic.

You will have a great sense of humour and an open approach. You will have a strong personality and add much to our team culture.

What?

Plainly put you will be the first port of call for clients from across New Zealand who have suffered unjustified actions, mostly dismissals, through the grievance process.

You will be attending to client queries, assessing their situation, and guiding them to a solution for their issue.  Sometimes it will be general advice, other times you will commence the grievance process for them, raise a grievance, and see it through to closure - be that as a settlement, a mediation, or a hearing.

A big part of your role will be supporting Senior Advocates, especially by working with clients and compiling their Witness Statements for hearings. You will be drafting Personal Grievances and be responsible for communicating with both clients and employers.

The role will be varied and will have significant scope – it will be an excellent opportunity to experience many different aspects of the grievance process.

So if it sounds like this role will give you happy Mondays and you can bring some interesting aspects of you to the table, please submit your cover letter and CV ASAP.  We will be interviewing as we receive applications.
