About the role

An experienced Drill & Blast Engineer role supporting a client operation in WA on an 8:6/9:5 roster.

Key responsibilities

• Design drill and blast patterns to meet production, fragmentation and wall control targets

• Prepare blast plans, shot sheets and loading designs

• Monitor and manage blast vibration, overpressure, flyrock and fume risks

• Analyse blast outcomes and implement continuous improvement

• Ensure compliance with site procedures, environmental conditions and legislation

• Prepare reports on drill and blast performance and costs

About you

• Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline

• Drill and blast experience in open cut mining or quarrying

• Current Shotfirer's licence (highly regarded)

• Experience with blast design software such as O-Pitblast, SHOTPlus, BlastIQ or similar

• Sound understanding of explosives regulations and blast monitoring

• Strong communication skills and ability to work with production teams and contractors

• Current driver's licence and ability to pass a pre-employment medical and D&A test
