You know your trade. Now you’re looking for somewhere you can do more with it....
At Ulti Group, this isn’t a role where you’ll be doing the same job in five years unless that’s what you want. We’re looking for a strong Electrical Technician who wants to build their technical capability, take on more responsibility, and potentially grow into leadership.
We’re New Zealand’s market leader in specialist door and dock loading systems, working with some of the country’s biggest companies. We’re also family-owned, growing, and serious about developing good people.
Why this role is worth a look- $100,000–$130,000 package, depending on the value and experience you bring
- Company vehicle and tools of trade included
- A genuine growth pathway, technically and into leadership
- Opportunity to take on greater responsibility and influence as you develop
- Work across electrical controls, mechanical systems, fault finding, installations and servicing
- Variety of work across cold storage, food processing, logistics, warehousing, retail and more
- Join a national team with high standards and a management team that backs its people
- 7.30am–4.00pm, Monday to Friday standard hours
- Relocation support may be available if Hawera isn’t currently home
The opportunity
This is more than a traditional electrician role.
You’ll install, service, fault-find and upgrade specialist door systems across customer sites. It’s hands-on, varied work involving both electrical and mechanical capability, with plenty of customer interaction.
For the right person, there’s also room to step beyond the tools over time. We want someone who can become a go-to person in the team, lead other team members, take ownership and develop their leadership capability as the business grows.
What you’ll be doing- Electrical field wiring and installation
- Electrical upgrades, fault finding and repairs
- Mechanical installation of specialist door systems
- Servicing and preventative maintenance
- Coordinating contractors
- Working directly with customers and solving problems on site
- Managing your jobs, time and administration well
What we’re looking for
You’ll need an electrical qualification, ideally fully qualified, with EST considered as a minimum.
More importantly, you’ll be someone who:
- Is technically strong and enjoys solving problems
- Has solid electrical controls and fault-finding capability
- Is comfortable with mechanical fitting and installation
- Communicates confidently with customers
- Takes ownership rather than waiting to be told
- Has high standards and takes pride in their work
- Wants to keep developing and is interested in future leadership
- Can travel across the Lower North Island and occasionally elsewhere in NZ
If you’re a capable technician who feels ready for a bigger challenge, more variety and somewhere you can genuinely build a career, we’d like to hear from you.
You don’t need to arrive as a leader. You do need the drive and potential to become one.
