Tyrewise Data & Finance Validation Support

Fixed Term | Hastings | 40 hours per week

Do you have an eye for detail, enjoy investigating discrepancies and like working with both data and numbers?

3R is looking for a Tyrewise Data & Finance Operations Specialist to join our Commercial Delivery team on a fixed-term basis from November 2026 until August 2027.

Reporting to the Commercial Delivery Team Manager, you’ll play an important role in supporting the financial integrity and day-to-day operation of Tyrewise, New Zealand’s regulated product stewardship scheme for end-of-life tyres.

This is a varied role combining data verification, financial administration, reconciliations, exception management and operational support. You’ll investigate anomalies, make sure payments and transactions are accurate, and help keep the processes behind Tyrewise running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Data verification and validation: Checking claim, transaction and operational data against supporting information and established business rules.

  • Financial administration: Supporting accurate and timely payments through payment verification, corrections, reversals and other finance administration activities.

  • Reconciliations: Completing reconciliations and investigating discrepancies, missing or duplicate payments and other exceptions.

  • Investigating anomalies: Identifying unusual patterns, discrepancies and potential non-compliance, investigating the cause and resolving or escalating issues as appropriate.

  • Supporting fraud detection: Applying good verification practices, recognising potential fraud indicators and escalating concerns when required.

  • Operational support: Helping maintain efficient processing, scheme administration and accurate records.

  • Continuous improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and controls, including opportunities for automation and more efficient ways of working.

  • Working with others: Collaborating with colleagues across Commercial Delivery, Finance, Help Desk, Data & Systems and the wider Tyrewise team, as well as working with Tyrewise service providers and system users.

About you

You don’t necessarily need to come from a specific industry. We’re looking for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, is comfortable working with data and financial information, and has the curiosity to investigate when something doesn’t look right.

To do well in this role, you’ll have many of the following skills and attributes:

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

  • Good numerical aptitude and confidence working with financial and operational information.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and investigation skills.

  • Good Microsoft Excel skills and general computer literacy.

  • The ability to pick up new software, systems and processes.

  • Experience with accounting, finance or ERP-type systems would be an advantage, but is not essential.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • A curious and investigative approach, with the confidence to question anomalies and seek supporting information.

  • High levels of integrity, discretion and accountability.

  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build positive working relationships with a range of people.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys getting things right, is comfortable asking questions, and takes pride in producing accurate and reliable work.
