Are you an Applications Support Analyst, Systems Analyst or Business Systems professional looking for a role where you can support, improve and shape key business applications? This ICT Business Analyst role sits within an Applications Team, but it is much more suited to someone with hands-on applications support experience than a traditional Business Analyst background.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys troubleshooting business systems, supporting users, configuring applications, working with suppliers and helping improve how technology supports the organisation. You will be working across key enterprise applications including Microsoft Dynamics 365, SharePoint, Power Platform, Copilot Studio, analytics, data warehousing, HR and finance systems.
Why this role may be right for you
This role is ideal if you have experience providing 2nd or 3rd line support for business applications and want to move into a broader position involving systems improvement, digital change and stakeholder engagement. You do not need to have worked with the organisation's exact systems before. What matters is that you understand how applications work, how systems connect, and how to support users when business-critical platforms need to be fixed, configured or improved.
What you will be doing
Providing 2nd and 3rd line applications support across enterprise business systems
Troubleshooting, configuring and improving internal applications
Supporting users and stakeholders with system issues, enhancements and change requests
Working with suppliers on larger changes, testing and implementation activity
Supporting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, SharePoint, Copilot Studio, data warehousing and analytics tools
Mapping integrations, APIs, system dependencies and end-to-end data flows
Supporting system testing, including integration, regression and user acceptance testing
Applying security, privacy, records management and data governance requirements
Helping identify opportunities to improve business processes and system usability
What we are looking for
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with a background in applications support, systems analysis, application specialist, business systems support, CRM support, finance systems support, case management systems, document management systems or customer management platforms.
Hands-on experience supporting business applications at 2nd or 3rd line level
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate system issues
Understanding of system configuration, integrations, APIs, data flows or technical architecture
Experience working with users to understand problems, requirements and improvements
Ability to document requirements, changes, processes or technical knowledge
Confidence working with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Curiosity, ownership and the ability to learn new systems quickly
This is not a programming role, and it is not a standard 1st line service desk role. It is best suited to someone who already has hands-on experience supporting and improving business applications.
What is on offer
Salary of £37,694 - £38,990
Annual ICT allowance of £3,713
Permanent, full-time role
Hybrid working for most roles
Access to Civil Service pension arrangements
25 days' annual leave, increasing to 30 days after 5 years
12 public and privilege holidays
Flexible working scheme
