White + Wong’s / Sardine Newmarket is looking for an experienced Duty Manager to join our rooftop team.
We’re after someone who brings personality, flair and great energy to every shift. Someone who loves being on the floor, connects naturally with guests, backs their team and can keep things running smoothly when the venue is pumping.
This isn’t a role for someone who wants to stand on the sidelines – we want a hands-on hospitality person who leads from the front and genuinely enjoys what they do.
What we’re looking for:
Previous experience in a senior hospitality/Duty Manager role
Current Manager’s Certificate / LCQ
A confident, positive and outgoing personality
Strong food, wine and beverage knowledge
A natural ability to connect with guests and create memorable experiences
A great team player who can also step up and lead
Calm and confident under pressure
High standards, great presentation and attention to detail
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
Duties the role will include:
Day to day management of the FOH staff and ensure there is a harmonious relationship over the pass.
Ensure a safe working environment and positive customer experience by facilitating safe work behaviours of the team.
Directly perform hands-on work on an ongoing basis to train employees, respond to customer service needs, or otherwise ‘lead from the front’ in the restaurant as the duty manager
Ensure the establishment is clean and tidy at all times with appropriate ambience, through music and lighting.
Monitor the food offering and presentation and take note of any customer feedback.
Monitor cleaning of dining areas/bathroom/foyer to maintain sanitation standards.
Achieve top line sales
Ensure good roster management
Assist in recruitment
