About the role

A School Counsellor position to join the student support team for three set days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Provide counselling support to rangatahi, whānau and staff

• Conduct risk assessments

• Deliver trauma-informed and culturally responsive counselling practice

About you

• Hold a relevant counselling qualification

• Have active membership with NZAC or NZCCA

• Be confident and experienced in risk assessment

• Demonstrate trauma-informed and culturally responsive counselling practice

• Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with rangatahi, whānau and staff

• Demonstrate sound professional judgement, confidentiality and ethical practice

• Previous experience as a School Counsellor is preferred
