About the role

An established aluminium window and door manufacturer is looking for a practical and experienced Window & Door Service Technician to join its growing service team. This is a hands-on, mobile role servicing, maintaining and repairing aluminium windows and doors in residential and commercial properties. You'll be working independently for much of the day, attending scheduled service jobs and identifying what is required to get windows and doors operating as they should. Experience with aluminium joinery, or performing in this role for another company is required.

We're looking for someone with at least 10 years' experience on the tools. You should be confident working independently, assessing what needs to be done and finding practical solutions rather than needing someone to tell you the next step. If you're good with your hands, enjoy figuring out how things work and take pride in fixing things properly, this could be a great next step.

What you'll be doing

Your work will include:

- Servicing and adjusting aluminium windows and doors
- Diagnosing operating and hardware issues
- Replacing handles, stays, rollers, locks and other hardware
- Adjusting sliding doors, hinged doors, bifolds and window sashes
- Reglazing and replacing glass where required
- Carrying out general remedial and maintenance work
- Identifying parts and materials required to complete repairs
- Completing service documentation and recording work undertaken
- Communicating professionally with customers while working in their homes or businesses
- Looking after your company vehicle, tools and equipment

Who we're looking for

You'll have 10+ years' hands-on trade experience, ideally in one or more of the following:
- Aluminium joinery
- Glazing
- Window and door installation or servicing
- Property or building maintenance
- Another relevant hands-on trade

You'll need to be someone who:

- Enjoys figuring out how things work and fixing problems
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Takes pride in completing a job properly
- Is comfortable working independently and organising their day
- Is confident dealing directly with customers
- Can accurately assess what parts or work are required
- Is reliable and takes ownership of their work
- Has a full NZ driver's licence

What we offer

- Competitive remuneration based on experience
- Full-time, permanent employment
- Company vehicle for work use
- Tools and equipment provided
- Phone provided
- Training in our products and systems
- A varied role with plenty of independence
- The backing of an established aluminium window and door manufacturer
- A position where practical knowledge and problem-solving are genuinely valued

If you're an experienced aluminium joinery professional – or an experienced builder or tradesperson with 10+ years on the tools who's ready for a change – we'd like to hear from you.
