Working within the screen production industry, Portsmouth Rentals provides equipment and expertise to a diverse range of clients. We're looking for someone who can spot opportunities, build strong industry relationships and deliver excellent customer service, while keeping the day-to-day business running smoothly.
This is a varied role that combines business development, commercial management, team leadership and operational oversight. You'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on the performance and future direction of the business.
About the role
Reporting to the CEO of Park Road Post Production, you'll take responsibility for the overall performance of Portsmouth Rentals, leading a small, experienced team.
You'll be closely involved in the day-to-day operation, working alongside the team, supporting customers and making practical decisions to keep things running effectively.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Identifying and developing new business opportunities to grow revenue and profitability.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers and industry partners.
Taking a hands-on approach to sales, quoting, negotiations and customer service.
Managing budgets, pricing, costs and overall commercial performance.
Leading and supporting a small team, creating a positive and collaborative working environment.
Overseeing day-to-day operations, including equipment availability, utilisation and service delivery.
Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and the customer experience.
About you
We're looking for someone who combines commercial acumen with a practical, customer-focused approach. You'll be comfortable developing business opportunities one moment and rolling up your sleeves to help solve an operational challenge the next.
Ideally, you'll bring:
Experience in the screen production, equipment rental or a related technical services industry.
A proven ability to develop business, grow revenue and build lasting customer relationships.
Sound commercial and financial management skills, including budgeting, pricing and profitability.
Experience leading a small team and getting the best out of people.
Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
A proactive, adaptable approach and the confidence to take ownership and make things happen.
Working knowledge of camera and / or lighting equipment would be an advantage, as would an established network within the industry.
