$24.00 – $28.00 per hour plus statutory 8% holiday pay. Depending on Drivers License
About the Role
As a Traffic Controller on our projects, you will:
Manage and direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely around construction and roadwork sites in accordance with Traffic Management Plans (TMP) and Site Traffic Management requirements.
Set up, maintain, relocate and dismantle traffic control equipment (cones, signs, barriers, stop/slow bat).
Monitor and respond to dynamic traffic conditions to maintain safety and compliance.
Work collaboratively with site supervisors, contractors and project team members to minimize disruptions and enhance site efficiency.
Report hazards and incidents promptly as required.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and enforce traffic control measures at designated work sites
Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements (site and NZTA standards)
Report accurately and clearly on daily traffic operations
Maintain equipment and keep records of site activities
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
✔ Full and valid New Zealand driver license (Full Class 1 minimum)
✔ Ability to stand and be active outdoors for extended periods
✔ Strong communication and safety awareness skills
We need staff with proven experience as traffic controller to join our team.
