Flexicon Plastics is an Auckland plastics manufacturer specialising in blow moulding, injection moulding and printing. We produce bottles, containers and components for clients across New Zealand. We’re growing, and we’re investing in better systems and processes. We need a skilled technician who takes pride in their work.
The role
You’ll be responsible for the setup, operation and performance of our blow moulding machines, which include our BM and Kai Mei lines. You’ll keep production running efficiently and to a high quality standard. Your work will include:
Mould changes, machine setups and start-ups to meet the production schedule
Adjusting process settings (temperatures, parison, blow pressures, cycle times) for consistent output
Troubleshooting machine and product faults, and reducing rejects, downtime and scrap
Preventive maintenance and minor repairs on machines and moulds
Working with Quality Control to resolve defects and keep accurate records
Supporting and training machine operators
Following and helping improve our health & safety and standard operating procedures
About you
Proven experience as a blow moulding technician or setter, ideally on extrusion blow moulding machines
Strong mechanical aptitude and a logical approach to fault-finding
Good understanding of plastics such as HDPE, PP, LDPE
Quality-focused, reliable and self-motivated
Good communicator who is happy to share knowledge
Commitment to safe work practices
Injection moulding experience or a polymer processing qualification is a bonus
