Rothesay Bay, North Shore, Auckland

2 to 5 days a week | 40% commission plus bonus

We're the dentists chickens aren't scared of. For 20 years our Remuera practice, Dentistry for Chickens, has been built around one idea: the best dentistry builds confidence, not fear. We've cared for more than 25,000 patients and provide over 600 hours of IV and nitrous sedation a year.

We're bringing Dentistry for Chickens to an established practice in Rothesay Bay on the North Shore, and we're looking for experienced general dentists to grow it with us. From two days a week to five, we'll shape the role around the right person. The clinic is a modern, well-designed multi-surgery practice with an existing patient base, set among local shops and services, and it will run on our brand, systems and processes.

Why Dentistry for Chickens

  • Care for nervous patients is at the heart of what we do, with nitrous and multi-drug IV sedation part of everyday dentistry

  • Clinical support from our experienced Principal Dentist and our Remuera team of associate dentists, oral health therapists and a clinical dental technician

  • A dedicated management team handles staffing, admin, systems and marketing, so you can focus on patients and clinical work

  • Proven systems from a practice that has run successfully for two decades

The role

You'll provide comprehensive general dentistry with clinical autonomy and room to develop your own interests. You'll be confident working independently, with our wider team there to support you when you need it.

Sedation is a real advantage. Formal sedation training is highly regarded, even if your hands-on experience is still limited, and we'll help you build it. If you're interested in sedation but haven't trained yet, we'll support your clinical skill development once you've completed formal training.

Remuneration and ownership

The position offers 40% commission, plus a growth-linked bonus for a dentist keen to help grow the practice.

For a dentist who wants it, there's a pathway to partial ownership of the practice. With our partners staying active in the business, you'd share in the growth of a practice you part-own without carrying every part of ownership and management alone. Ownership is optional, and dentists after a long-term clinical role are equally welcome.

About you

  • Solid experience in general practice and the confidence to work independently

  • Sound clinical judgement across comprehensive general dentistry

  • A calm, considerate approach, particularly with nervous patients

  • An interest in building long-term patient relationships

  • Current Dental Council of New Zealand registration and NZ work rights are preferred. Registration or relocation support may be considered for an exceptional candidate with a realistic, timely pathway to NZ residency.

Timing and applications

The anticipated start is early 2027, with flexibility for the right person.

Please apply with your CV through SEEK. Applications are treated confidentially, and we're happy to have an informal chat first. Email [email protected].
