Help shape the future of Health and Wellbeing education in Aotearoa New Zealand.

At Cavalli College, we believe quality education has the power to make a real difference, not only for our learners, but for the people and communities they go on to support.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Lecturer – Health and Wellbeing to join our academic team and play a key role in shaping the future of our programmes.

This is an opportunity to bring together your academic expertise, sector experience and passion for education to help develop meaningful learning pathways for those working across Advanced Care and Support, Mental Health and Addiction, and Lived Experience Peer Support.

The opportunity

This is more than a teaching role.

You'll play an important part in shaping how our programmes are developed, delivered and continuously improved, ensuring they remain practical, relevant and responsive to the sectors we serve.

With a particular emphasis on Mental Health and Addiction, you'll contribute to curriculum and assessment development, academic quality and teaching, while also supporting our wider Health and Wellbeing programmes, including Advanced Care and Support.

Working alongside our academic team and sector partners, you'll help create learning experiences that reflect real-world practice and support learners to make a meaningful difference in their communities.

Your role will include:

  • Leading curriculum, course and assessment development, including new programmes and pathways.

  • Supporting academic quality through moderation, programme review and continuous improvement.

  • Providing leadership, mentoring and guidance to our Health and Wellbeing teaching team.

  • Contributing to teaching, assessment, workplace learning and learner achievement.

  • Working closely with sector stakeholders to ensure our programmes reflect current workforce needs and practice.

  • Helping shape the ongoing development and delivery of Health and Wellbeing education at Cavalli College.

About you

You'll be an experienced tertiary educator who brings both academic capability and a genuine understanding of the Health and Wellbeing sector.

We are particularly interested in applicants who bring experience and expertise in Mental Health and Addiction, and who can contribute to both teaching and curriculum development in this area

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • A relevant qualification at Level 7 or above.

  • Strong experience in tertiary teaching, curriculum and assessment development.

  • Practical knowledge and experience within the Mental Health and Addiction sector.

  • Experience in academic quality, moderation and programme review.

  • The confidence to provide academic leadership and support to others.

  • Strong relationships across the Health and Wellbeing sector, or the ability to develop them.

  • A collaborative, innovative and learner-centred approach.

Experience in Advanced Care and Support would also be valuable.

Above all, you'll be someone who understands the importance of education that is grounded in practice, informed by the sector and designed to make a genuine difference.
