Job Title: Category Apparel Sourcing Manager Location: GurgaonDivision: Merchandising Experience: 8 – 12 YearsReports to: GM – Merchandising Level / Grade 6Job purpose:To manage end-to-end sourcing for a specific apparel category (Men’s, Women’s, or Kids’) acrossV-Mart stores, ensuring cost-effective, high-quality, and timely procurement. The role focuses onvendor management, category strategy, quality standards, and seasonal delivery schedules, whiledriving margins, compliance, and supply chain efficiency. Acts as a strategic link betweenmerchandising, production, and vendors for category performancePrimary responsibilities:• Develop and execute category-specific sourcing strategies aligned withmerchandising plans• Identify, evaluate, and manage vendors for cost, quality, and compliance• Negotiate costs, MOQs, lead times, and payment terms to achieve margin targets• Ensure timely sampling, production, and deliveries as per seasonal calendars• Monitor fabric sourcing, trims, garment quality, and adherence to categorystandards• Collaborate with Merchandising to translate design and trend inputs into bulkorders• Drive vendor development, onboarding new manufacturers as required• Ensure ethical sourcing, statutory, and quality compliance• Track KPIs related to cost, OTIF, quality rejections, and category fill rate• Mitigate supply chain risks, production delays, and cost escalationsEducation:• Bachelor’s degree in Textiles / Fashion Technology / Apparel Production / GarmentManufacturing• Postgraduate qualification in Fashion Management, Apparel MerchandisingKey Skills and Attributes:• Strong expertise in category-specific apparel sourcing in value retail or high-volumeproduction• Proven vendor negotiation and relationship management across Indian manufacturingclusters• Solid understanding of fabric, garment construction, costing, and quality standards• Ability to ensure on-time production and delivery aligned with seasonal retail cycles• Effective cross-functional collaboration with merchandising, planning, and supply chainteams• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills with high ownership mind-expand_less
