About the role
Join our Meter Reading Services team and help deliver an essential service to local communities. As a Meter Reader, you'll travel throughout Rotorua and the surrounding regions reading electricity, water, and gas meters.
Every day is different as you work across a variety of locations, enjoy being outdoors, and meet customers along the way. This role offers a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per fortnight, with opportunities to work additional hours depending on workload and demand. During busier periods, some fortnights may provide up to 70 hours of work. Hours are generally worked Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday work required.
Key responsibilities
Reading electricity, water, and gas meters accurately and efficiently
Recording meter readings using a handheld device
Driving between assigned routes and walking between properties
Providing friendly and professional customer service when interacting with residents
Working safely and following all company health and safety procedures
About you
A full New Zealand driver's licence (essential)
The ability to walk approximately 5 to 6 kilometres per day
The ability to frequently get in and out of a vehicle and navigate uneven terrain
Confidence and comfort around dogs and other household pets
Good attention to detail and accuracy
Flexibility to work additional hours during busy periods
Motivated, energetic, and confident working outdoors in all weather conditions
Permanent legal right to work in New Zealand
