Help Us Shape a Greener Community: Resource Recovery & Site Supervisor
Location: 27 Lake Road, Devonport, Auckland
Hours: 3 to 5 days a week (flexible/to be agreed),including 6 hours working on Saturday plus occasional extra days as needed
Are you passionate about sustainability, community, and keeping things out of landfills? Do you enjoy a hands-on role where no two days are the same?
At Resource Recovery Devonport, one of New Zealand's leading recycling and waste management charities we run a vibrant reuse shop, a busy recycling centre (open 7 days a week), a landscape supply business, and a skip hire service. Everything we do is centered around diverting waste from landfill and helping our local community thrive sustainably.
We are looking for a friendly, capable, and practical Site Supervisor to join our tight-knit team and help guide our daily operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
Working as part of a collaborative team, your days will be varied and purposeful. You will help oversee:
Site & Team Support: Leading day-to-day environmentally focused operations and keeping health and safety a top priority.
Customer Connection: Welcoming customers with a smile, assisting them on the weighbridge, and helping out in our reuse shop.
Resource Sorting: Receiving donations, sorting, and organizing reusable goods and materials to get them ready for their next life.
Local Deliveries: Helping deliver landscape and recycled materials locally to our community members.
What We’re Looking For
A Practical Touch: Experience operating small diggers and loaders is preferred, but by no means essential. A Class 2 license would be a fantastic bonus.
People & Customer Skills: A natural ability to connect with people, provide warm customer service, and support a team.
Resilience & Energy: This is a hands-on, physically active role that involves working outdoors in all weather conditions—so you won't mind rolling up your sleeves!
A Shared Passion: An alignment with our mission to protect the environment and support local sustainability.
