Eden Juice is a juice manufacturer based in Alexandra. Each year we take over 1,000 tonnes of fruit that would otherwise go to waste and turn it into 100% pure juice. Our range is sold across New Zealand and Australia.
The role
You will join the production team at our Alexandra factory and report to the Production Manager. Day to day you will run the pasteurising, bottling and labelling machines, keep machinery and the site maintained so production runs smoothly, and help with dispatch. When the Production Manager is away, you will run production to the weekly plan.
**Eden Juice is a seasonal business, so the applicant must be able to work longer weeks in the fruit season (January & February) which we make up for in the off-season.
What you’ll do
Set up, run and clean down the pasteuriser, bottling and labelling machines
Follow our food safety, hygiene and production procedures, and keep production records accurate
Grease, clean and check machinery daily and weekly, and report faults early
Carry out basic repairs and keep the workshop, yard and buildings tidy
Help receive fruit and deliveries, make up pallets and load trucks
Run production when the Production Manager is away
What we’re looking for
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (food or beverage is a bonus)
A good understanding of how a production line runs: set-up, changeovers, cleaning down and record keeping
Mechanically minded: comfortable with tools, able to tell when a machine isn’t running right and fix minor issues
Reliable, punctual and follows procedures
Works well in a small team
Able to do physical work, including lifting and working in cold areas
Forklift licence, or willing to get one
What we offer
$28 to $32 per hour, full time - subject to experience
Training on our machines, with the chance to step up and run production when the Production Manager is away
