About the role
Essential Staff is looking for 5 experienced General Labourers / Hammerhands for ongoing construction work across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions.
These are full-time positions working across a range of commercial and residential construction projects.
You will be working alongside carpenters, builders and other trades, assisting with general construction duties and keeping sites running safely and efficiently.
These roles involve work across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions. Regular travel between these regions may be required, so the ability and willingness to travel is essential.
Key responsibilities
Assisting carpenters and other trades on construction sites
Moving, loading and unloading building materials
Site preparation and general site clean-up
Using basic hand and power tools
Measuring and cutting materials as directed
Assisting with framing, formwork and general building activities
Basic demolition and removal of construction materials
Setting up and maintaining work areas
Following instructions from supervisors and qualified tradespeople
Completing work safely and following site health and safety requirements
About you
Previous construction or building site experience preferred
Experience as a Hammerhand, Builder’s Labourer or Construction Labourer is advantageous
Comfortable using basic hand and power tools
Physically fit and able to complete manual construction work
Reliable and able to work as part of a team
Good understanding of construction site health and safety
Reliable transport
Willing and able to travel between Waikato and Bay of Plenty as required
Benefits
$24.00 - $30 per hour
Minimum 30 guaranteed hours per week
Typically around 40 hours per week, with additional hours available depending on project requirements
