Part-time contract · Bay of Plenty, Matamata-Piako and South Waikato

Starting Jan 2027

Love working with kids? Passionate about reducing waste? Help us inspire the next generation of environmental kaitiaki.

Zero Waste Education delivers fun, hands-on waste minimisation lessons to early childhood centres (ECEs) and primary and intermediate schools. Our units are linked to the New Zealand Curriculum and help tamariki understand how what we buy, use and throw away affects the world around us and what they can do about it.

We’re looking for contract Educators to bring our programme to schools and ECEs.

Part-time only

Please note: this is a part-time contract role, not a full-time position. Hours fluctuate depending on how many schools and ECEs book lessons. While ECEs can be taught during school holidays, school terms are only 40 weeks out of the year. This role would suit someone looking for flexible, part-time work, for example, a relief teacher or someone balancing other commitments.
