The role
Working across cloud and on-premises infrastructure, your responsibilities will include:
- Building, configuring and deploying Windows Server, Azure and virtual infrastructure solutions.
- Delivering infrastructure upgrades and migrations, from technical planning through to implementation, testing and handover.
- Implementing and improving Microsoft 365, Entra ID and hybrid identity configurations.
- Acting as an L3 escalation point, investigating complex incidents and implementing permanent fixes.
- Configuring and maintaining VMware and/or Hyper-V environments, including troubleshooting performance and availability issues.
- Implementing backup and recovery solutions, validating restores and contributing to disaster recovery testing.
- Configuring and troubleshooting networking infrastructure, including switches, firewalls and VPNs.
- Developing PowerShell scripts to automate recurring tasks and improve consistency across client environments.
- Identifying opportunities to strengthen infrastructure security, reliability and performance.
- Maintaining technical documentation, implementation plans and support handovers, while keeping clients informed.

We’re looking for:
- Previous experience working within a Managed Service Provider.
- Strong technical knowledge across Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP.
- Hands-on experience implementing and supporting Microsoft 365, Azure and Entra ID.
- Experience building and managing virtual infrastructure using VMware and/or Hyper-V.
- A track record of delivering server upgrades, migrations or infrastructure improvement projects.
- Sound knowledge of networking, backup solutions and disaster recovery.
- Practical PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems, remote monitoring tools and change management processes.
- Clear communication skills and confidence working directly with clients, vendors and technical colleagues.
