Site Manager

We are seeking a Site Manager to lead a busy waste and resource recovery operation in the Otago region. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, operational experience, and a commitment to health and safety.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing landfill operations, kerbside collections, transfer stations, and associated operational activities. You will lead a local team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the site and associated transfer stations.
- Ensure contractual and compliance obligations are met.
- Support and promote a strong health and safety culture.
- Coordinate and oversee kerbside collection services.
- Lead toolbox meetings and manage site reporting requirements.
- Work closely with customers, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Manage plant, equipment and fleet maintenance requirements.
- Provide leadership, support, and direction to the site team.
- Operate heavy machinery and commercial vehicles as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team.
- A current Class 4 licence being advantageous
- WTR endorsement.
- Strong communication and people leadership skills.
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
- Good computer literacy.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- A flexible, hands-on approach.
- Mechanical knowledge (advantageous).
