About the role
NZ Labour Hire is gearing up for a busy summer on large development and infrastructure projects across the North Shore, West, East and South Auckland.
Our clients are making the most of the summer construction window, so expect early starts, long hours and busy sites. If you’re keen to put in the hours while the work is there, we want to hear from you.
Bring a good attitude, a strong focus on safety and reliable transport. Operators will need relevant experience and the licences or endorsements required for the role.
Key responsibilities
Operate a variety of civil construction machinery and equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, graders, and compactors
Perform pre-operation and post-operation inspections of plant and machinery to ensure safety and optimal functionality
Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance requirements
Follow all site safety protocols and work in compliance with health and safety regulations
Communicate effectively with site supervisors and team members to understand project requirements and timelines
Operate machinery with precision to achieve required grades, compaction levels, and site specifications
Identify and report any mechanical issues or equipment defects to supervisory staff
Assist with the loading, unloading, and transportation of plant and equipment as required
What we're looking for
Valid Class 2 or Class 4 driver's licence
Proven experience operating civil construction machinery in similar roles
Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements specific to plant operation
Excellent spatial awareness and precision in machinery operation
Sound mechanical knowledge and understanding of plant maintenance principles
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
Willingness to work on various civil construction projects across Auckland
