About the role

You'll take ownership of the credit preparation and application process, working with the adviser, clients and bankers to keep deals moving. You'll gather the right information, assess the numbers, write clear credit submissions and follow through on lender questions and approval conditions.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate, persuasive credit submissions for residential mortgages and occasional business lending applications.

  • Review client financial information, including financial statements, tax returns, bank statements, income evidence and existing lending.

  • Assess servicing, security and the overall lending position against lender requirements.

  • Work with the adviser to identify suitable lending structures and lender options.

  • Request supporting documents and information directly from clients, explaining what is needed and following up promptly.

  • Present complete, well-organised applications that clearly explain the client's circumstances, lending purpose, strengths and relevant risks.

  • Liaise with bankers and lender credit teams to answer questions, resolve issues, negotiate terms within agreed parameters and get applications over the line.

  • Track applications, manage outstanding requirements and keep the adviser and clients informed.

  • Coordinate approval conditions and handovers through to settlement.

  • Maintain accurate client records and follow the business's privacy, compliance and documentation procedures.

About you

  • Strong credit writing skills, with the ability to turn complex information into a clear lending proposal.

  • A practical understanding of lender policies, servicing requirements and application processes.

  • The confidence to communicate directly with clients, bankers and other professionals.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage several applications and deadlines at once.

  • A proactive approach to identifying gaps, solving problems and following matters through.

  • The ability to work independently and communicate reliably in a remote team.

  • Business lending experience would be an advantage.

  • A New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5), particularly Residential Property Lending, would also be valued.
