Export Airfreight Operator

GVI Logistics Ltd is a New Zealand owned International Logistics provider with sites in Christchurch & Auckland.

We have a junior Export Operations position available predominantly based in our Airfreight team at our Christchurch branch.

This is an entry level position perfect for someone looking to start their freight forwarding career or build on existing experience, full training will be provided and you will learn all aspects of the role of an Export Airfreight Operator at GVI Logistics with the opportunity to expand your knowledge in other areas of the business when appropriate.

Please note: Once fully competent in the role weekend work will be required on a rostered basis.

Day to day duties would include but are not limited to:

·       Liaising with Clients, Airlines & Overseas Agents

·       Data entry

·       Processing of documentation relating to export cargo

·       Obtaining rates & preparing quotations for clients

Attributes we are looking for:

• Administrative experience or a tertiary qualification

• Strong communication and organisation skills

• Good computer skills and a sharp eye for detail

• The ability to pick up new systems and processes quickly

• Composure under pressure when deadlines are tight

• A positive attitude, a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn

• Happy working in a team or on your own

• A clean driver licence and a clean criminal record (required under aviation security regulations)
