“You have a way of making people feel welcome.”
If that’s a compliment you often receive, we’d love to hear from you.
Our client, Rangiura, is looking for a Receptionist who brings a warm welcome, a helping hand and an organised approach to their day. Someone who enjoys people, thinks on their feet and understands how much a friendly face can mean to a resident or family member.
About Our Client
At Rangiura, care starts with how people are treated. Their residents, village community and whānau are supported by a team whose values are to be trustworthy, respectful, accountable and compassionate.
As a Receptionist at Rangiura, you will help bring those values to life from the moment someone walks through the door or picks up the phone.
About the Role
You will be the first point of contact for residents, families, visitors and contractors, helping people feel welcome and providing them with the assistance they need.
This is a varied role which will see you move between conversations, phone calls and administration throughout the day. Your responsibilities will include:
Welcoming residents, whānau and visitors with warmth and professionalism
Answering phone calls, responding to enquiries and passing on messages accurately
Ensuring visitors and contractors sign in and complete the relevant paperwork
Managing incoming mail
Providing general administration support to the wider team
Processing EFTPOS payments and supporting administration in Xero
Your primary days of work are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 8.30am to 4.30pm, with a half-hour lunch break.
You must also be available to provide additional cover over the Christmas and New Year period of 2026–2027.
About You
You are naturally friendly and approachable, with a genuine interest in people. You take the time to listen and treat older people with the kindness, patience and respect you would want for your own loved ones.
You can recognise when someone needs reassurance, a practical answer or help from another team member. When the phone rings and someone is waiting at reception, you can think on your feet, prioritise and keep your manner calm and welcoming.
You will bring:
Previous reception and administration experience
Clear, considerate communication skills, both in person and over the phone
Compassion, empathy and respect for people’s dignity and independence
Great organisational skills, attention to detail and reliable follow-through
Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new technology
Familiarity with EFTPOS and Xero, or the ability to pick these up quickly
A willingness to lend a hand and support your colleagues.
Why Join Rangiura?
You will be joining a team where people matter and where your everyday interactions can make a real difference. A warm greeting, a carefully passed-on message or a little extra patience can help someone feel comfortable, heard and cared for.
If you enjoy helping people and keeping things running smoothly, this could be a great fit.
