About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder / Fabricator to join a busy production team in Canterbury. Specializing in stainless steel fabrication, you will be responsible for cutting, bending, welding, and finishing high-quality fixtures and fittings. Working from technical drawings, you will play a key role in delivering precision products that meet exact quality standards and tight tolerances across custom workshop projects.

What You'll Be Doing

Cutting, bending, TIG welding, and finishing stainless steel to produce custom fixtures and fittings
Reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings, blueprints, and job specifications accurately
Operating standard fabrication equipment, workshop machinery, and hand tools safely and effectively
Ensuring all finished work strictly meets required quality standards, surface finishes, and dimensional tolerances
Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized work area while following all workplace health and safety protocols
Working collaboratively alongside the production team to meet daily workflow targets and project deadlines
Reporting job progress, material requirements, and any technical issues directly to the Site Supervisor

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in metal fabrication, with specialized stainless steel fabrication highly regarded
Solid welding skills with strong proficiency in TIG welding across thin-gauge materials
Ability to read, interpret, and work independently from detailed technical drawings
High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality workmanship and fine finishes
Reliable team player with a strong work ethic, good communication skills, and a commitment to H&S practices
Must hold a valid Class 1 Driver’s License and reliable transport
Must have your own standard PPE (Steel-cap boots, Hi-Vis clothing, welding helmet, safety glasses)
