About the role
This is a national role to support the management of the Massey Ventures investment portfolio. Included in the role is support for the establishment of new ventures, practical assistance as the new ventures navigate the start-up phase and portfolio strategy and reporting when the ventures are established companies.
Key responsibilities
Support the establishment of new ventures by assisting with the set-up of new companies, including company registration, governance structures, shareholder agreements, intellectual property licences, etc.
Support capital raising for new ventures.
Support the development of new ventures through the provision of support services such as templates for company documents, introductions to service providers and liaison with the University for ongoing research and associated services.
Monitor and report on established portfolio companies, including receiving shareholder updates, annual reports and other correspondence, reporting progress to the Massey Ventures Board and recommending opportunities for investment or divestment.
Support the establishment and management of the Massey Ventures Investment fund.
About you
Degree in finance, business or related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
Demonstrable experience with the commercialisation/early-stage investment process.
Understanding of intellectual property management processes.
Knowledge of start-up business processes.
Experience with communication of early-stage investment and commercialisation opportunities.
Experience presenting effectively to external groups.
Experience organising and running events.
Experience using social media and with PR.
Experience with legal contracts and other instruments, as relevant to good partnership management and project development.
